The Ritual of Buying Real Estate
We as humans create our mystical means to understand a process. This mystical means comes from our life experience. One needs to understand the perspective of your counterpart…whether you are Buyer, Seller or represent either or both.
NEIGBORHOOD RATING - FIND YOUR SENSE OF PLACE
How you view your world is the essence of how you perceive happiness. You are planning on buying so shouldn’t you enjoy it? Life is short and so is your decision making time when you finally find the place you can live with.
Rating a neighborhood is a personal perspective of our past experiences. Our best decisions are based on when we acknowledge our past experiences of life and bring them forward to our perspective of the present and views of our future.
Accessibility
In buying a place one gets a sense of being, of ownership and a sense of stability. Within that feeling, stability is based a lot on our accessibility to people and other places. Here are considerations and conversations to have as you personally consider how a place coincides with your lifestyle and your place.
Safety & Security
What one views as safe may appear to be scary to others and vice-versa.
The best interpretation when one views a place is a personal understanding of what is real versus what is imagined. As such take an eagles eye view of the world then zoom in to the real details.
Eat, drink and be Merry!
Do you eat at home or do you go out? Is this an important part of your everyday life? In some metro areas these factors can be a big part of how you would rate a place.
SPAces and places
Sometimes you just want to understand what sense of place you are in the world. If you can understand your sense of place and sense of being you can be a more fulfilled person to your self and others.
Rating the energy flow – your flow index
When you consider the flow of the spaces our minds are taking into consideration both conscious and subconscious feelings and energy as it moves from one place to another. This energy is both visible such as light, and invisible such as air movement, breezes, and sounds.
Touch- The 3 dimensional senses that leads to all the others.
We rarely consider the feeling of touch as important to us in a real estate transaction. What is the mind’s definition of what feels good? Shouldn’t it be that of actually having a sense of being? That sense of being includes the 3 dimensional relationships of our bodies to that which surrounds us.
NAture and the feeling of light
Natural light is so important to how we feel in a place in time. That time is defined by morning, noon, afternoon and night.
When one starts considering light, one grasps how your feeling about the place can change. The textures on walls may appear to change. Ceilings will feel different whether natural or artificial light plays a role in how such light is placed.
Shadows on subjects
As nature casts a shadow against the light the way we sense the space where we stand can change. This is why it is ever so important to get a real sense of a space by being there at different times of the day whenever possible
Smell well
As humans we base our sense of smell on our experiences to date then throw in the mix of our physical attributes and ability to smell and taste.
A lot of the cultural norms of one place may vary with location and people. As individuals we perceive the sense of smell based on so many more factors than we think of in a normal real estate transaction or consideration. But really what is “normal?”
Sounds and vibrations
In our modern world of virtual reality creations, Hollywood has spent years and billions of dollars to recreate the feelings and emotions of being in a space. Yet, when most people look at buying a building they rarely consider the impact of sounds and vibrations within and around the building they are considering.
Furniture management
When one considers space, consider that space before considering what goes in it. Stuff can always come and go…the stuff can be bought, rented or leased a whole lot easier.
