18 Key Traits you want in an Agent that has your Back

1. These agents understand the importance of having a relationship with a client treating a buyer as a life client and not a one time transaction.

2. They are seasoned, having extensive life experiences in and out of real estate.

3. Real estate experience – They understand the processes involved, how to avoid and alleviate problems in the buying, selling and leasing process.

4. They have a working knowledge of real estate specific to your needs.

5. They have a working knowledge of construction – tools and techniques and what they don’t know they know someone who does.

6. They have a working knowledge of architectural styles and history as it applies to spaces and places.

7. They respect themselves, their clients, and everyone else such as tenants.

8. They have manners. A simple “Thank you!” and “Excuse me” to everyone no matter the situation at hand go a long way.

9. Good agents do their homework on what their client wants and not just what is for sale today.

10. A good agent does their research on a neighborhood for a client.

11. Good agents never fake it until they don't make it…they are clear, concise and truthful when communicating with you.

12. Emotional control rules no matter what. A professional agent manages their emotions and are aware of yours, never letting the other side see you sweat.

13. You need agents that tell the truth beyond the transaction.  Know what they do outside of real estate and google their name.

14. They have and know their brand. Top agents are defined less of the brokerage they represent and more of who they are as a person.

15. They understand the importance of living in the present when they are with you. This means making eye contact, repeating back to you your desires and concerns.

16. They know how to create reports that reflect your individual perspective of what you need to know.  These reports are generated from their MLS (Multiple Listing Services), government agencies and so on.

17. They deliver what is promised in a timeframe that makes sense.

18. You know you have a good agent when you have these three elements:

- TRUST

- CLARITY IN NEED

- COMMUNICATION
